Does LinkedIn render markdown at all?

No. LinkedIn shows no markdown formatting, so asterisks and underscores stay visible as literal characters. This page replaces those markers with characters that carry the same meaning after pasting.

Will the styled characters break on mobile?

Bold, italic, and bullets are safe on the devices I test on. The heavier alphabets, like fraktur, script, circled, squared, and full width, depend on the font installed on the phone, so test those before you publish.

Which platforms does this work on?

LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads, and Facebook, plus plain text for email, Slack, and commit messages. The styling is carried by the characters, so it pastes the same way anywhere.

Is my draft stored anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is saved between visits. Refresh the tab and the draft is gone.

Can I undo a conversion?

Yes. Your markdown stays in the source pane, so you can keep editing and copy again.

Formatted text is plain unicode, so it copies and pastes like normal text. Screen readers handle bold and italic characters poorly, so keep the important sentences in regular text and preview on a phone before publishing.
